Private Mentorship
Accessibility
What we have done so that families who use a screen reader, larger text or a keyboard can use this website.
-
Screen readers
Pages work with VoiceOver and other screen readers: real headings, named buttons, and a description on every picture that carries meaning. An automatic test checks our public pages against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.
On an Assistant’s page, the skill bars and the weekly hours chart are also given in words.
-
Larger text and zoom
You can zoom in on any page: pinch on a phone or tablet, or press Ctrl and + (⌘ and + on a Mac) on a computer. We never turn zoom off.
-
Keyboard
Every link and button can be reached with Tab and pressed with Enter. A clear outline shows where you are. Esc closes any window and takes you back to where you were.
Reviews and photos on an Assistant’s page can be moved through with the keyboard.
-
Captions on videos
Assistants’ introduction videos can show captions in English and Chinese. We are adding them one video at a time.
-
Less motion
If your phone or computer is set to reduce motion, the website stops its animations.
-
English and Chinese
The pages for families are in English and Simplified Chinese. Choose your language with the flag at the top of the page. Screen readers read the Chinese pages in a Chinese voice.
